COVID-19 restrictions have pretty much been lifted, but we would ask people to continue to take reasonable precautions and stay away if they have cold or flu-like symptoms, especially on Guest Nights when we tend to sit a bit closer together. It's up to you if you want to bring your own mic or wear a mask.

2023 started well with a visit from Paul Downes in January, and February saw the welcome return of Steve & Julie Wigley and Stonesthrow. We continued the returning friends theme with Anthony John Clarke in March and Winter Wilson in April. Next was Zoom friend Pete Grassby and his group the Laners, who also attended Tredegar House Folk Festival. Ruth & Ken Powell regaled us with some lovely tunes in June and Shep Woolley in July was a delight. Our Next guests are Anthony (Tony) Cresci from the Bay Rum Hounds, this time joined by Adam Franklin, a well-respected Blues guitarist. In September we had the long-awaited visit of Enda Kenny, who we had to cancel during the COVID lockdown, and then we had a spotlight on our Zoom Friend Mark Dowding. October brought us Zoe Mulford and theJigantics went down well in November. Tom Reid had to postpone his spotlight and will now appear on 30th November. Our last guests for 2023 are Martyn Wyndham-Read and Iris Bishop.
Through our Zoom sessions, we have made so many new friends that might not have visited the club otherwise. As a result, we will continue hosting Zoom Sessions, but these will be on the third Tuesday of every month so that they don't interfere with our live sessions. You can download the Zoom app to pretty much any device. Click on the button below to download the App for your device from the Zoom website.
Once you have Zoom working on your device, Join us in the meeting room using the number below (no passcode required). Please Make sure that your Zoom profile lets everyone know who you are and join us about 15 minutes before the Scheduled Start Time to indroduce yourself to Ruth if you wish to perform. For everyone's benefit, please keep your microphone muted when other people are performing.
If you are joining us after the 8:30 p.m. Start Time, please ensure that you leave your microphone muted to avoid disturbing anyone who is performing at the time you join. We prefer to see everyone's face, but if you are feeling a bit self-conscious, by all means switch off your video feed and just listen.
We welcome ALL acoustic instruments and musical styles and players from beginners to virtuosos, whether you wrote it yourself or borrowed it from someone else. We are not averse to a bit of poetry or purple prose either. Come along to play or just listen to others. We use the Function Room upstairs and the atmosphere is terrific. Come along and find out for yourself!
